- Does the student need their own violin/accordion/piano/keyboard?
- Yes definitely. In the case of violin students I can recommend a local luthier that will rent you a decent instrument to get started without investing too much in an instrument. In the case of piano - for very young beginners you can use an electronic keyboard initially, for early beginners and up I recommend a decent quality digital piano (the difference between this and a simple electronic keyboard is that it has full size, weighted keys that are touch sensitive so it simulates the action of an acoustic piano - important when learning in order to build dexterity and develop proper technique). More information on this topic in an article here.
- Am I obligated to sign a contract for a season of lessons?
- No, there is no contract. I request that students reserve a recurring weekly lesson time for which I invoice monthly at the beginning of the month.
- Where can I rent/buy an instrument?
- Pianos, digital pianos - Amazon.de, Stage Music (Sandweiler),
- Violins: Faber Violins
- Accordions - Thomann (Germany)
